I learned to crochet while I was in elementary school, back in the day you could take home economics courses & they taught the basics like cooking, sewing etc. The first thing I made was a layette for my older sisters first baby and my love of creating has just grown since then. When my kids were little I made them Halloween costumes, dolls, I made afgans to keep us warm and pillows for decorations & curtains for new military quarters when we moved. I always kept a basket of yarn in the livingroom or needlework supplies for whatever project I was working on. And my sewing supplies I kept in a closet because I had no room to set up a dedicated sewing room.At first home that we owned I had a very very small room almost the size of a small walk in closet that I created in. When my husband retired and we moved to the south I had a Garden Shed placed in the backyard that we insulated & ran power to so that I could have a craft space (I outgrew that quickly). Then three years ago we built a new home and I took over a huge bonus room for my craft studio, since then I have also taken over a small bedroom for my sewing room & I finally got everything organized and where it should be.
